The Cockapoo is still trying to make a run for entrance into the AKC. The American Cockapoo Club was formed in 2004. These members are trying to show breeding from AKC/CKC Cocker Spaniels and AKC/CKC Poodles. The North American Cockapoo Registry started in 1999 is also trying to show ONLY purposeful and planned cross breeding of the two dogs. I am hoping for a happy outcome soon.
